National HIV Testing Day is Monday June 27

NHTD 2016-PosterMonday June 27, 2016 marks the 21st annual National HIV Testing Day. In 1995 the National Association of People Living with AIDS (NAPWA) founded this day to promote HIV Testing. Every year, more than 50,000 people are diagnosed with HIV and even more are living with HIV and don’t know it.
During last year’s National Testing Day, SAAF, in partnership with COPE Community Services, Inc., Arizona Department of Health Services, Walgreens, the Pima County Health Department, and other organizations, tested over 60 people! This year the same partnerships will provide free HIV testing throughout Tucson.
In recognition of National HIV Testing Day, SAAF will be offering expanded HIV testing hours at our location on South Euclid Avenue on Monday June 27 from 8:00am-8:00pm. Regular HIV testing hours are: Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 1:00pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00pm to 8:00 pm, and Fridays from 10:00am to 1:00pm. To make an appointment, call 520-628-SAAF (7223). Walk ins are also welcome.
