Chief Technology & Operations Officer
Summary
The Chief Technology & Operations Officer (CTOO) is responsible for providing leadership in developing and implementing practices and processes in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of information technology, SAAF facilities, rental properties, compliance and safety. The CTOO serves as a member of the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF) Executive Leadership Team. The CTOO will lead a team of information technology and operations professionals, while ensuring the organization is properly supported by all related functions and activities.
In partnership with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this position serves as a collaborative change agent while providing support to the Executive Leadership team regarding issues that impact SAAF. The CTOO will also be responsible for giving oversight to consultant activities in support of information technology, operations, compliance, and safety and related initiatives. The CTOO may be called upon to present to the Board of Directors when requested by the CEO.
Primary Job Duties
Leadership & Team Building
As a key leadership team member, the CTOO will model a collaborative management style and be a champion of cross-organization cooperation. The candidate will bring new insights into working with potential strategic partners and organizational investors, ideally in the areas of new strategic focus for SAAF with regard to information technology, operations, compliance and safety. The CTOO will need excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills and possess the ability to work with teams or individuals to make better use of their systems and to implement new systems with a minimum of disruption and zero loss of data.
Critical business systems management & Continuous Improvement
The CTOO will lead an ongoing comprehensive review of operational efficiency and is responsible for continuous improvement of critical data systems which will allow for standardized policies, procedures, and value-added reporting formats across all SAAF programs and sites. Must exhibit the ability to learn and grasp new software and technologies with the skills to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse audience.
performance assessment & staff performance
The CTOO will significantly contribute to developing effective organizational performance metrics, setting goals, and reviewing performance, with a preference for experience developing and utilizing performance analytics, dashboards, and infographics. The CTOO will also focus on staff development and building a collaborative work environment that inspires confidence, innovation, advancement, and thoughtful contributions among all team members. The CTOOO will exhibit strong supervisory and leadership skills by utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills partnered with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
It administrative
The CTOO will require strong analytical and problem-solving skills to be responsible for the planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and coordinating of all information systems. The CTOO takes the lead in developing and managing the organization’s infrastructure and communications technology to provide the most efficient support for current operations and future information technology needs. The goal is to ensure that information technology adds the maximum value to the organization to facilitate the greatest success of SAAF.
Operations
The oversight of Operations is a critical leadership role of the CTOO, with responsibility for shaping, guiding, directing, and leading strategically focused facility, property & procurement solutions that support the mission and goals of the organization in a manner that maximizes operational excellence, financial strength, sustainability, and collaboration. The CTOO will need to possess excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and have the ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- At least seven (7) years of direct management experience in IT, facilities, and/or, operations personnel
- At least four (4) years of management of manager-level personnel, with the ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
- At least two (2) years of senior management/executive level management including multi-function teams. Prior position should involve strategic reporting and planning based on data analysis.
- Experience with Azure administration, monitoring, tuning, and deployments
- Compliance experience in data security, HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, and grants.
- Strong familiarity with Office 365 or demonstrable ability to learn Office 365 administration quickly.
- IT operations: diverse knowledge set including but not limited to an understanding of applications, LAN/WAN infrastructure, data management/systems, cloud technology, disaster planning/recovery, telecommunications, hardware, and equipment.
- Cloud/Hosted Solutions: Experience with Office 365 management and Azure.
- Experience in contract management and negotiation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior management experience in both IT and Operations personnel.
- Prior non-profit experience.
- Master’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Background in business administration and/or management.

Compensation
$116,772-$148,885 DOE. FLSA Status: Exempt
